West Ham vs Manchester United team news: Bad news for the visitors

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that star forward Marko Arnautovic is “100 per cent fit” after training with his teammates for the past three days.

Meanwhile, the Manchester Evening News state that Paul Pogba is set to start the match when United travel to the capital, with Jose Mourinho again refuting claims of a fallout with the Frenchman.

Pogba, who was stripped of the second captaincy at the club just weeks after being handed the armband in Antonio Valencia’s absence, travelled with the squad on Friday but there were seven players absent from the trip.

Argentine duo Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero, who are injured and suspended respectively, are the only two players certain to miss out, though Valencia, Diego Dalot, Phil Jones, Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard did not appear to make the journey south with their teammates.

If Valencia continues to miss out then the likely candidates to captain the side at the London Stadium are David de Gea, Chris Smalling and Ashley Young - all of whom have done so in the past.

As far as the hosts are concerned, the real positive news regards Arnautovic, who was seen as a doubt for the lunchtime kick-off having been forced off against Everton last weekend with a knee injury.

Elsewhere, after a brace in the cup on his debut against Macclesfield, youngster Grady Diangana is likely to be involved in the match day squad in the absence of the injured Manuel Lanzini and Jack Wilshere. Meanwhile Declan Rice will continue at the base of the midfield after a string of composed performances.
