United register British club transfer record for France international
Manchester United have lodged a British club transfer record bid to re-sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, according to The Sun.
Pogba, 23, left United for Juventus on a free in 2012 and has developed into one of the best midfielders in Europe.
The France international has been fiercely linked with a move away from the Serie A champions in recent years and United have made the first move this summer, submitting an initial bid worth £48m plus £12m in add-ons.
The combined £60m offer would surpass the £59.7m they paid Real Madrid for Angel di Maria in 2014, as United manager Jose Mourinho eyes up his first marquee signing of his reign.
Pogba finished as the highest rated player in Serie A last season (7.81). No player registered more assists than the Frenchman (12) in Italy’s top-flight and only Franco Vazquez (126) completed more dribbles (102).
