West Ham and Newcastle target January loan move for Liverpool striker

West Ham and Newcastle want to sign Liverpool striker Danny Ings on loan for the remainder of the season in January, reports The Guardian.

Ings’ Liverpool career has been ruined by two serious knee injuries and he will almost certainly have to leave Anfield in order to get regular first-team football.

The 25-year-old last started a Premier League game in October 2015 yet there are a host of top-flight clubs interested in securing his services next month.

Ings’ priority is to break back into the Liverpool first-team but the former England international has dropped down the pecking order during his period on the sidelines.

Newcastle and West Ham both want to bolster their offensive options at the start of next month in order to boost their chances of survival and are monitoring Ings’ future ahead of the January transfer window.

Ings has only managed 17 minutes of first-team football this season.
