Paris Saint-Germain consider move for Manchester United target
Paris Saint-Germain have earmarked Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini as a potential transfer target, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
Pellegrini is regarded as one of the most promising midfield talents in Italy and has already been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.
PSG head coach Thomas Tuchel is desperate to sign a new central midfielder to bolster his options for the second half of the season.
Adrien Rabiot will reportedly see out the last six months of his current PSG deal on the bench and there are claims Lass Diarra’s contract will be terminated this month.
The Ligue 1 giants have already been linked with January moves for Premier League duo Abdoulaye Doucoure and Idrissa Gueye, as well as Napoli ace Allan.
However, it has now emerged that Roma starlet Pellegrini is another midfielder under consideration by Tuchel’s side.
PSG may, however, delay their pursuit of Pellegrini until the end of the season when he will reportedly be available for between €28m-30m, depending on where Roma finish in the league this season.
Pellegrini has only started nine league matches for Roma this season and made a further two appearances from the bench, garnering a WhoScored rating of 6.99.
The Italy international has reserved his best performances in the Champions League, where he has played a direct hand in four goals in as many games (one goal, three assists).
Furthermore, only Edin Dzeko has garnered a higher WhoScored rating than Pellegrini (7.67) of all Roma players in the competition this season.
